Anodizing is an electrolytic process that produces a film of aluminum oxide on the surface of aluminum. The aluminum oxide film that is formed is extremely hard, highly resistant to wear and corrosion.
Corrosion Resistance (336+ hours salt spray resistance per ASTM B117)
Surface Durability
Excellent Dye ability (yielding deep, rich colors)
Electrical Insulation
Sulfuric anodize coatings are sealed with nickel acetate sealer and then hot water to enhance corrosion resistance, lock in dyes, or both.
